摘要：El objetivo de este estudio fue comparar, evaluar y validar los registros de comportamiento espacio temporal de la nube estratocúmulo obtenidosmediante imágenes GOES, con observaciones realizadas en terreno entrelas fechas 17 y 26 de Julio del año 2002 en parte del desierto costero de laI Región de Tarapacá. Entre los principales resultados está la similitudentre imágenes GOES y registro real en terreno, 92% y 79% para la tarde ymadrugada respectivamente. Las observaciones fueron realizadas desde lacumbre de Cerro Carrasco, 20º 55 latitud sur -70º 05 longitud oeste,1.596 m.s.n.m.
