摘要：Gran parte de nuestro entorno, lleva la inequívoca impronta del Art Deco. Existe un desconocimiento casi total a nivel local, sobre la arquitectura comprendida entre los años 30 y 50 en los cuales se dio la presencia de esta corriente estilística que abarcó las artes plásticas, la arquitectura, el vestir, los objetos decorativos de uso diario y que en Maracaibo fue significativa, según se puede apreciar por la cantidad de obras de arquitectura aún existentes en distintos sectores de la ciudad. El proyecto busca reconstruir, a partir del inventario de la arquitectura premoderna, la imagen arquitectónica de la primera mitad del siglo XX en Maracaibo, surgiendo el arte decó como una de las manifestaciones de la nueva modernidad que se comenzaba a imponer en sustitución de los códigos estéticos del pasado, variando entre un arte decó culto y otro popular.
其他摘要：Most of our surroundings indicate the unequivocal influence of Deco Art. However there is a great level of ignorance about architecture from the nineteen thirties to the fifties. This stylistic tendency embraced fine arts, architecture, clothing and decorative ornaments in daily use in Maracaibo, and its influence was significant in relation to architectural structures that still exist in many sectors of the city. Many examples still can be seen in different parts of the city. This project attempts to reconstruct the architectonic image of the early 20th century, starting with an inventory of premodern architecture. Therefore, Deco art emerged as a declaration of the new modernity which slowly began to impose itself and substitute the precious aesthetic codes varying from pure Deco to popular art.
