摘要：Valendo-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, este artigo tem por objetivo discutir as principais contribuições que a Teoria das Representações Sociais pode trazer para o estudo de um campo particular da proteção social no Brasil: a Política Nacional de Saúde Indígena. Procura demonstrar que as representações sociais que os diferentes atores sociais ali envolvidos — indígenas e profissionais de saúde — constroem acerca de diversos aspectos dessa questão, relativos a si mesmos e aos “outros”, num contexto marcado por relações interétnicas, podem gerar diferentes impactos sobre a concretização da Política Nacional de Atenção à Saúde dos Povos Indígenas (PNASPI), bem como sugerir alguns caminhos alternativos para tal política.
其他摘要：Based on a bibliogra-phical and documentary research, this work intends to discuss the main contributions that the Theory of Social Representations may bring to a specific field of social protection in Brazil: the Indigenous Healthcare National Policy. It tries to demonstrate that the social representations created by the social actors involved — indigenous people and health professionals —, regarding the various aspects of this issue, concerning themselves and “others”, in a scenary marked by inter-ethnic relationships, may generate different impacts on the Indigenous Peoples Healthcare National Policy (PNASPI), as well as they may suggest alternative ways for this policy to follow.
