The corporal characteristics of 130 men and 209 women between 16 and 21 years of age, and belonging to the Samuel Robinson Program for entering the UCV (which signifies poor socio-economic family conditions), were evaluated for this article. The anthropomorphic information was gathered using the International Biological Program and the Arlie (Virginia) Conference; and the socio-economic data using the Graffar-Castellanos method. Corporal mass, contexture, thigh-waist measures, muscle and grease indexes were registered. Using Z-score, the results were compared with those of a group of students from the Economics Faculty of the UCV. The men were below-average in weight, had muscle deficiencies and a high proportion had low registers of grease. The women had an acceptable weight although with a tendency to be less than aver-age, adequate grease levels and a high proportion of muscle deficiencies. Com-pared with the reference group, the only perceptible differences were in muscles, with the men displaying more marked deficiencies.
