摘要：El presente artículo examina el proceso de apertura de oportunidades para el ejercicio del poder político para las mujeres en la historia reciente de América Latina, buscando evaluar el rol de medidas de acción afirmativa –también conocida como “discriminación positiva”- en las transformaciones posibles en esta esfera. El estudio se centra en tres países -Argentina, Brasil y Chile- examinando las experiencias argentina y brasileña, en busca de claves que per- mitan proyectar los posibles resultados de una ley de cuotas en Chile, en términos de equili- brar la participación de hombres y mujeres en el ámbito de la representación políticas, parti- cularmente en el Poder Legislativo a nivel nacional.
其他摘要：This article examines de process by which, in recent years, Latin American women have seen their chances to enter the sphere of formalised political relationships increased. The study seeks to evaluate the impact of measures of affirmative action –also known as “positive discrimination”- on the transformations (or lack of) that have been verified in this sphere, focusing on three countries: Argentina, Brazil and Chile. The experience of affirmative action in the first two cases is examined with the purpose of establishing key variables that would make possible to asses the potential impact of a quota law in Chile, particularly in the domain of political representation and, within it, Legislative bodies at the national level.
