摘要：El proceso de construcción del estado-nación en Chile en el siglo XIX fue prolongado. Desde varios puntos de vista-político, social y económico, entre otros-es posible postular que a lo largo del período 1829-1880 estuvo sometido a diferentes tensiones que no solamente lo dilataron, sino que requirieron de acuerdos socio-políticos amplios que comenzaron a dar sus frutos una vez que fueron superadas las contradicciones que dieron origen a las guerras civiles de la década de 1850. Fue sólo entonces que el proceso de organización política y territorial adquirió mayor velocidad, aunque no estuvo ausente de agudos problemas, y abrió paso al proceso de modernización del país.
其他摘要：The process of building a nation-state in Chile during the XIX century was a protracted one. From various points of view-political, social and economic, among others-it is possible to argue that throughout the period from 1829-1880 it was subject to manifold tensions which not only resulted in delays, but that also demanded broad socio-political agreements which started to yield fruit once the contradictions giving rise to the civil wars of the 1850s were overcome. It was only then that the process of political and territorial organization took on greater velocity, although not free of serious problems, and and gave way to the modernization process in the country.
