摘要：El propósito de este artículo es analizar la recuperación ritual, discursiva y simbólica de la Batalla de Yungay (20 de enero de 1839) en el contexto de la Guerra del Pacífico (1879-1883). El texto estudia la actualización del imaginario del triunfo de Yungay realizada por el discurso nacionalista chileno en la guerra de 1879, utilizándolo como un hito histórico central en la construcción de una retórica triunfalista frente a Perú y Bolivia. También se examina cómo el nacionalismo bélico chileno recuperó momentáneamente la festividad del 20 de enero, caída en el olvido en la década de 1860, como una instancia clave para la difusión de este ideario patriótico.
其他摘要：The purpose of this article is to analyze the ritual, discursive and symbolic recovery of the Yungay Battle of January 20, l839, in the context of the War of the Pacific (l879-l883). The text focuses on the process of contemporization of the imaginary of the Yungay victory by the Chilean nationalistic discourse of the l879 war, using it as a central historical landmark in the building of the triumphalistic rethoric facing Peru and Bolivia. It also examines the way how Chilean nationalism recuperated the 20th of January holiday, longtime forgotten since the l860’s, as a key moment for the publicity of a patriotic set of ideas.
