摘要：Este artículo es producto de una reflexión hecha al estudiar la obra La sociedad cortesana de Norbert Elias. Se busca identificar los símbolos y signos que pueden permitir pensar que en la ciudad virreinal de Santafé de Bogotá hubo personas que quisieron instaurar una sociedad cortesana, empezando desde el establecimiento de las buenas maneras, del ceremonial y la etiqueta, para actividades de tipo social como las procesiones realizadas por el cambio de mando virreinal.

The aim is to identify the symbols and signs allowing to think that there were people striving to establish a courtier society in viceregal Santafe de Bogotá, beginning with the deployment of fine manners, ceremonial and etiquette in social events, like parades performed in the event of new viceroy appointments.
