摘要：Dentre as inúmeras patologias que afetam a infância, a Síndrome de Down (SD) destaca-se por provocar alterações globais no processo de desenvolvimento. Nos últimos anos, principalmente devido à sua alta incidên cia, diversas pesquisas têm sido empreendidas com o intuito de melhor compreender esta síndrome, o que temtrazido importantes contribuições ao conhecimento na área. Entretanto, verificam-se, ainda, lacunas no tocante à compreensão das mudanças e transformações que caracterizam o desenvolvimento dessas crianças, especialmente no que concerne aos estágios mais precoces do seu desenvolvimento. Com o objetivo de contribuir com este campo de pesquisa, o presente artigo de revisão objetivou apresentar resumidamente os principais aspectos acerca do neurodesenvolvimento e desenvolvimento relacional dos bebês com SD. Esperase, com isto, contribuir com a literatura na área ao destacar ambos os aspectos no início da vida do bebê e facilitar, assim, o resgate por estudantes e pesquisadores dos estudos sobre a SD.
其他摘要：Among the pathologies that affect childhood, Down Syndrome (DS) stands out for causing global changes in the developmental process. In recent years, mainly because of its high incidence, several studies have been undertaken in order to better understand this syndrome, which has contributed to an important increase in knowledge about this area. However, there are still gaps in relation to understanding the changes and transformations that characterize the development of these children, especially in relation to the initial stages of their deve- lopment. With the objective to contribute to this field of research, this article aimed to summarize the main aspects about the neurodevelopmental and relational development of babies with DS. It is expected thus, to contribute to the literature in the area, emphasizing both aspects, at the beginning of the baby’s life and thereby facilitate the treatment by students and researchers of the studies on DS.
