On the basis of the theory of cognitive dissonance, of which a summary is included, and the theory of manifest anxíety, a synthesis is made to reach the conclusíon that the postdecisional dissonance gives place to a relative increment of the amount of manifest anxíetv, experimentally measured, The study aims .to conciliate the terms of the false dichotomy affection vs. cognition, and attempts to integrate the dialectic process that nourishes the system of personality.
