摘要：O tétano é uma doença contagiosa, de alta letalidade e imunoprevenível, no entanto, continua ocorrendo. Esse estudo buscou anali- sar as ocorrências de tétano acidental no município de São Paulo, investigando as histórias clínico assistenciais dos acometidos pela doen ça, identificados por meio das fichas de notificação do Centro de Vigilância Epidemiológica da Secretaria de Estado da Saúde. Das 15 notificações, foram localizados cinco ex-doentes e entrevistados. Houve predomínio do sexo masculino, ausência de dose de reforço da vacina dT e diagnóstico tardio em todos os casos. Esse resultado lança uma advertência sobre a necessidade de combina- ção entre tecnologia e educação em saúde.
其他摘要：The tetanus is a contagious disease of high lethality. Although its prevention can be made by vaccine, it still occurring. This study des- cribes accidental tetanus events in São Paulo, investigating the clinical-care histories of affected by the disease, identified through the records of notification of the Center for Epidemiological Surveillance. Among the 15 notifications, five ex-patients were identified and interviewed. There was a prevalence of males, with absence of reinforce doses of tetanus vaccine and late medical diagnosis in all the cases. This result raises reflections about the gap between technology and health education.
