摘要：O estudo tem como objetivo analisar os sentimentos e percepção dos acadêmicos do Curso de Enfermagem da Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú, sobre o processo de envelhecimento e a pessoa idosa. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, realizadas com os 29 acadêmicos de enfermagem da Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú. As informações foram coletadas durante a disciplina de enfermagem geriátrica no período de janeiro a junho de 2010, obedecendo à resolução 196/96. A técnica de escolha para captar as informações foi a do dese- nho projetivo. A análise do material permitiu evidenciar que ainda há introjeção nos alunos associando a velhice com a fase negativa da vida, principalmente relacionadas aos processos fisiológicos próprio da época, no en- tanto foi possível colher sentimentos e percepções que avançam ao encontro da nova percepção de saúde. Essa é representada como uma fase positiva e que sinaliza para mudanças de posturas e atitudes perante a saúde e reconhecimento do idoso. Isso pode ser reflexo do contexto sócio-cultural e de graduação em que esses estu- dantes estão inseridos.
其他摘要：The study aimed to analyze the feelings and perceptions of the academic course of Nursing State University of Vale do Acaraú, CE/Brazil about aging and the elderly. It is a qualitative exploratory and descriptive rese- arch, conducted with 29 nursing students at the State University of Vale do Acaraú. Informations were collec- ted during the geriatric nursing’s discipline in the period from January to June 2010, according to resolution 196/96. The technique of choice for capturing the information was projective drawing. The analysis of the ma- terial has highlighted that there are still introjection in the students of the association between oldness and negative phase of life, especially when associated with the physiological processes own of the time, however it was possible to reap feelings and perceptions that advance to meeting of the new perception of health. This is represented as a positive phase and that signalizes for change in postures and attitudes before the he- alth and recognition of the elderly. This may be reflexes of the undergraduate and socio-cultural context which these students are inserted.
