摘要：Catheter-based diagnostic and interventional procedures are being performed in invasive laboratories with increasing frequency which lead to increased incidence of catheter-related complications. One of the potential complications is the fracture and dislodgement of an angioplasty or cardiac catheterization device within the puncture site. It is essential that this complication be promptly recognized and treated rapidly and effectively. Here we report the surgical retrieval of the inadvertently fractured and trapped introducer sheath from the femoral artery.
