A teoria da sedução foi a primeira proposta sistemática de Freud para dar conta de um excedente de excitação que faz uma exigência de tradução ao sujeito humano, constituindo, ao mesmo tempo, o seu aparelho psíquico. Baseando-se na teoria da sedução generalizada, de Laplanche, o texto explora as relações entre as noções de sedução e de tradução e suas conseqüências na situação analítica.

The theory of seduction was Freud's systematic proposal to explain how excessive excitement requires a translation by the human subject, which at the same time constitutes the latter's psychic apparatus. The text explores the relationships between the notions of seduction and translation and their influence on the analytic situation, based on Laplanche's theory of generalized seduction.
