摘要：A Cimeira da NATO realizada em Lisboa, em Fevereiro de 1952, foi fundamental para a evolução do sistema defensivo europeu. Os ministros dos Negócios Estrangeiros da Aliança aprovaram um conjunto de resoluções que permitiram o alargamento e o aprofundamento político do Pacto, bem como a integração da Alemanha Federal no esforço de defesa da Europa. As suas conclusões resultaram de um profundo trabalho de negociação entre os principais aliados da Aliança que, apesar de ter passado à margem do Governo português, permitiu ao Estado Novo consolidar a sua posição internacional e definir a sua estratégia quanto ao processo de integração europeia e à relação transatlântica.
其他摘要：The North Atlantic Treaty Council of Lisbon was essential for the evolution of the European defense effort. Assembled in the Portuguese capital, the Foreign Ministers of the Alliance took important decisions regarding the enlargement and the deepening of the political structure of NATO. Additionally they established the formula to integrate West Germany in the European defense system. Even though Portugal stood aside from this negotiation process, the developments in NATO allowed the Portuguese regime to consolidate its international position and to define its strategy regarding the European integration process and the transatlantic relations.
