摘要：O artigo aborda a temática das origens da Grande Guerra da perspetiva do estatuto de Grande Potência da Alemanha e analisa o conjunto de debates e de publicações mais recentes sobre o papel da Alemanha nas vésperas da Guerra. É analisado o debate histórico sobre a questão da culpabilização e o papel de Berlim, desde a análise convencional prevalecente na Alemanha de revisionismo das décadas de 1960 e 1970 que deu origem ao chamado primeiro 'debate histórico' na Alemanha Federal, até à interpretação prevalecente na Alemanha unificada relativamente ao argumento de que as ações da Alemanha contribuíram decisivamente para a eclosão do conflito. Mais recentemente parece emergir um novo consenso entre os historiadores de que a eclosão da guerra não tinha nada de inevitável e de que todas as potências contribuíram, por motivações divergentes, para o início da Grande Guerra.
其他摘要：The article addresses the issue of the origins of the Great War from the perspetive of Germany's great power status and analyzes the set of debates and more recent publications on the role of Germany on the eve of war. The historical debate on the issue of guilt and the role of Berlin is analyzed from the conventional analysis prevalent in Germany to the revisionism of the 1960s and 1970s that gave rise to the so-called first 'historical debate' in West Germany, up to the prevalent interpretation at the time of German unification that Germany's actions had contributed decisively to the outbreak of the conflict. More recently a new consensus appears to be emerging among historians that the outbreak of war was nothing inevitable and that all the powers contributed with differing motivations for the start of the Great War.
