This study describes the use of the "CAPES Periodicals Portal" by the 258 students enrolled on graduate courses at the UFMG School of Medicine, who received a survey response form by email. Sixty-two (62) of them (27%) responded to the survey. Regarding the use of the CAPES Periodicals Portal,, fifty-seven (57-91.9%)use it to conduct research, twenty-nine (46.8%) of whom on a weekly basis. 71% reported knowledge of the Portal. With regards to the databases, fifty (50) students (80.7%) knew three to six databases, of which Pubmed appeared in one hundred percent (100%) of the answers. Regarding training courses offered by "CAPES", 71% had never participated in any and 88.7% reported interest in participation. These results demonstrate the frequent use of the "CAPES Periodicals Portal" by graduate students, as well as the need for ongoing training.
