This report describes the experience of a group under the Educational Program for Health Work (PET-Saúde) at the State University in Feira de Santana (UEFS) in Bahia State, Brazil, in Health Units, from a critical and reflexive perspective towards interaction between education, services, and the community. Participants in the project were undergraduate students in pharmacy, physical education, nursing, medicine, and dentistry. Evaluation of the process included follow-up meetings and use of the portfolio. The experience of different actors in the group proved to be innovative, challenging, and complex, since it required linkage between a teaching institution, health services, health professionals, and the community.
