摘要：OBJETIVO: Analisar o desempenho em tarefas de Consciência Fonológica (CF), de acordo com o sexo e com a hipótese de escrita. MÉTODOS: Foram avaliados 43 pré-escolares, 19 do sexo masculino e 24 do feminino, por meio de triagem fonoaudiológica completa, avaliação do nível de escrita, e das habilidades em CF. Os dados foram analisados utilizando-se os testes estatísticos ANOVA, de Duas Vias e Uma Via. RESULTADOS: Como resultados, encontrou-se relação estatisticamente significativa entre CF e sexo nos sujeitos com níveis de escrita silábico-alfabético e alfabético, nos quais a consciência de palavras mostrou-se mais desenvolvida no sexo masculino. Em tarefas de segmentação silábica com trissílabos, houve desempenho significativamente melhor no sexo feminino, evidenciando maior facilidade em lidar com a análise das sílabas. CONCLUSÕES: Concluiu-se que as meninas apresentam maior habilidade em analisar unidades menores, em palavras de maior extensão, o que pode ser sugestivo da possível relação entre o baixo índice de desvios fonológicos no sexo feminino e seu melhor desempenho em CF.
其他摘要：PURPOSE: To analyze the performance in phonological awareness tasks (PA), according to sex and writing hypothesis. METHODS: Forty-three preschool children - 19 male and 24 female - were submitted to a complete speech-language pathology screening, and carried out an evaluation of their writing level and their PA abilities. The data were statistically analyzed using Two-Way and One-Way ANOVA. RESULTS: As a result, there was a statistically significant relationship between PA and gender in subjects with syllabic-alphabetical and alphabetical writing levels. Awareness for words was more developed among male subjects, while female individuals had significantly better performances in syllabic segmentation tasks with three-syllable words, which evidenced their better abilities in dealing with syllabic analysis. CONCLUSIONS: It's concluded that the female subjects showed greater ability to analyze smaller units in longer words, which might suggest a possible relationship between the low rate of phonological deviations in female individuals and their better performance in PA.
