Este artigo analisa o fenômeno das organizações substantivas, também conhecidas como coletivistas ou alternativas. Apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa realizada em Salvador junto a doze organizações substantivas. Discute também a inadequação da sua abordagem via Teoria da Administração e acena com uma opção para a renovação do quadro referencial teórico, objetivando a atualização da Teoria face aos novos fenômenos organizacionais.

The article analyzes the phenomenon of substantive organizations, that also named collectivists or alternatives. It shows the results of the research made in Salvador with twelve substantive organizations. It also discuss the inappropriate of the substantive organizations approach in Administrative Theory and aims a option into review the theoretic approach, intending a renewal of the Theory in front of the news organizational phenomenons.
