Este artigo tem o objetivo de descrever características das disciplinas de Psicologia oferecidas em cursos de graduação em Enfermagem, em universidades públicas brasileiras. Até recentemente, a legislação que rege a grade curricular de tais cursos é a Portaria 1721 de 15 de Dezembro de 1994, do Ministério da Educação e do Desporto. Verificou-se que tais disciplinas são oferecidas em caráter obrigatório, na maior parte das escolas, com uma carga horária que atende ao mínimo previsto pela legislação, não são ministradas apenas por psicólogos e seu conteúdo é, na maior parte das vezes, de Psicologia Geral. Os esforços de inserção destas disciplinas vão ao encontro de uma formação do profissional enfermeiro que visa superar o modelo médico biológico.

In this article the insertion of Psychology courses in Nursing Programmes in public universities of the country is described. Until now the law that guides such matter is Regulation 1721 - December 15th, 1994, of the Ministry of Education and Sports. According to the data gathered from questionnaires aswered by members of the Nursing Programmes, most of the schools have Psychology courses offered as obbligatory; the time spent by theses courses fit the legislation demand; the teachers responsible for this courses are not psychologists only and their content is mainly General Psychology. Is seems to have an effort to offer the nursing students a graduation programme that surpasses the medical biological model
