Reflexões acerca de definições de conceitos de saúde e doença tendem a ser sempre atuais e pertinentes, visto que revelam, em diferentes épocas, o que as sociedades tendem a valorar de forma positiva e negativa, além de representarem importantes categorias nas imposições de normas sociais à vida. Consideramos que Canguilhem e Winnicott são autores que insistem no caráter relacional, e não essencial, dos processos que definem estados de saúde e doença, além do fato de enfatizarem discussões sobre o que seria o indivíduo saudável. Desta forma, propomos como objetivo geral promover um estudo sobre as teorias dos referidos autores, examinando mais especificamente as concepções que defendem o tema da saúde, assim como investigar algumas articulações entre ambas as teorias e posteriormente discutir a possibilidade de o conceito canguilhemiano de normatividade vital trazer potencialidades e novas contribuições para uma prática clínica winnicottiana.

Reflections on definitions of concepts of health and illness tend to be always current and relevant, as they reveal, at different times, what societies tend to value positively and negatively, and are important categories on the demand of social norms to life. We believe that Canguilhem and Winnicott are authors who insist on the relational, and not essential character of processes that defines states of health and disease, besides emphasizing discussions about what would be the healthy individual. Thus, we propose a general objective to promote a study on the theories of these authors, specifically examining the concepts that advocate the subject of health, as well as investigating some connections between both theories and then discuss the possibility of the Canguilhemian concept of vital normativity to bring potentialities and new contributions to a Winnicottian clinical practice.
