Cinco espécies de Poaceae (Gymnopogon burchellii, Ichnanthus bambusiflorus, Leersia ligularis, Merostachys neesii e Paspalum falcatum), oficialmente consideradas "presumivelmente extintas" no Estado de São Paulo, foram redescobertas durante levantamentos florísticos realizados em diversas áreas da abrangência do "Rodoanel Mario Covas" e coletas realizadas na região da Serra da Bocaina. Sugere-se que os nomes destas espécies sejam retirados da lista de extintas e colocados em outra categoria compatível com o atual nível do conhecimento sobre o status conservacionista destas espécies no estado de São Paulo.

Five Poaceae species (Gymnopogon burchellii, Ichnanthus bambusiflorus, Leersia ligularis, Merostachys neesii and Paspalum falcatum) legally considered as "presumably extinct" in the Brazilian state of São Paulo were found during field work undertaken in several sites of the construction of the ring-road "Rodoanel Mario Covas" and Serra da Bocaina region. It is suggested that these species names be taken out from the extinct species list and be placed in a category compactible with the present knowledge on the conservation status of these species in the state of São Paulo.
