摘要：The spread of the English language and the emergence of the Internet are mutually reinforcing trends in an age of globalization. The Internet appears to revolutionize the ways of human communication especially English language learning in a global context. This means that learners of the English language today need a new set of critical and interpretive skills. Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) therefore, need to understand how the Internet is revolutionizing English language learning. This paper discusses the impact of the Internet on English language learning as well as the need for new frameworks for teaching the English language in computer mediated contexts.
