摘要:Computer is essential for improving the standard of living and promoting the national development. Generally, developed countries have devoted at least 20% of their gross domestic product (GDP) to manufacturing. In the past twenty years, Computer science and technology has become involved in many varied applications throughout the world, with multiple products and rapid market services. It has not only provided industries with new methods, new tools and new products from design, material processing to operation and management process, but also is changing the manners, thinking styles and working environments of people in the manufacturing field. This special journal issue contains select best computer related papers from the 2010 International Conference on Frontiers of Manufacturing and Design Science (ICFMD2010) that fall into the subject matter areas of manufacturing technology and design science. ICFMD 2010 will be the most comprehensive conference focused on the Manufacturing and Design Science. The conference will promote the development of intelligent computing and information science, strengthening the international academic cooperation and communications, and exchanging research ideas. Some researches and findings in computer application in the field of manufacturing and design science are selected and expended here: “ Realization of Quadrilateral Mesh Partition and Optimization Algorithm Based on Cloud Data ” proposes an Algorithms of quadrilateral mesh partition and optimization based on cloud data which can improve mesh quality. “ Research of Hierarchical Clustering Based on Dynamic Granular Computing ” gives a new hierarchical clustering algorithm basis on dynamic fuzzy granular computing combining with the particle swarm optimization. “ Analysis the Speciality of Modulation Format in WDM-PON System ” describes a method of their modulated signal generation with computer and makes a comparison of their spectra and waveforms. “ Modeling the Region Patent Applications B ased on P - SVM and SA ” discusses a novel way about nonlinear regression modeling of DPAR with the potential support vector machines (P-SVM). The results also indicate that methods based on the P-SVM perform are better than the ones based on the standard SVM in both model generalization and DPAR forecasting accuracy. “ Key exchange based on Dickson polynomials over finite field with 2m” Gives a survey of the important properties of Dickson polynomial , and prove that Dickson polynomial over finite field with is a permutation polynomial if and only if is odd. “ RSR-tree: A Dynamic Multi-dimensional Index Structure ” presents a new dynamic multi-dimensional index structure called RSR-tree, in which splitting operations of leaf nodes and non-leaf nodes are performed separatively. “ A Multi-focus Image Fusion Method Based on Laplacian Pyramid ” proposes a simple and efficient algorithm for multi-focus image fusion, which used a multi-resolution signal decomposition scheme called Laplacian pyramid method. “ Evaluation of Network Connection Credibility based on Neural Network ” presents an innovative method to evaluate the credibility of network connections based on neural network with back propagation (BP) network model and Levenberg-Marquardt (LM) optimization algorithm. “ An Efficient Way of Frequent Embedded Subtree Mining on Biological Data ” gives an efficient algorithm named IRTM for mining frequent subtrees embedded in biological data. “ Three-dimensional Accurate Positioning Algorithm based on Wireless Sensor Networks ” proposes a three-dimensional accurate positioning algorithm. Experimental results show that it has high positioning accuracy and real-time performance. “ Enhancing Planning Heuristic with Landmarks ” gives the solution to the overestimate of landmarks count heuristic and extend landmarks count heuristic without action cost assignments, and prove that the extension of heuristic is admissible. “ Small Scale Quantum Network Communications ” via Multi-step Quantum Teleportation presents a small scale quantum network communication scheme based on entanglement of Bell states. “ An Improved Cross Diamond Motion Search Algorithm Based on H.264 ” proposes a directional search pattern and an improved cross diamond search algorithm based on many technologies including prediction of initial search point, suitable search pattern choosing and auxiliary search points. “ Research of Dynamic Steering Headlamps System Based on LIN Bus ” is to design a cheap, compatible LIN which can link the car with the AFS system. “ Multi-granularity Many-to-many Associative Memory Based on Incidence of Patterns ” gives some many-to-many multi-granularity associative memory models based on incidence of patterns. “ Learner Requirement Analysis based on the Classification Framework of Online Learning Activities: A Mixed Method Research ” sets up a classification framework of online learning activities and analyze online learners’ requirements. “ Design and Implementation of SAR ADC ” is to find out an optimization design of the ADC analog module and perfect it in the future. “ Evaluation of Land Ecological Safety Based on Fuzzy Matter-Element Theory ” constructes an evaluation index system of land ecological safety. Then it discussed the ranges of indexes corresponding to each evaluation grade. In this special issue. you will find papers regarding computer science and its applications, intelligent information processing and knowledge engineering, intelligent networks and instruments, multimedia signal processing and analysis, intelligent computer-aided design system, and so on.
