摘要：The study identifi es possibilities to represent contents of movies by using their cinematic elements such as characters, locations, dialogue and editing. The goal is to improve identifi cation and utilisation of essential cinematic elements in the retrieval of movies. The research identifi es manifestations of cinematic elements in representations made by informants after watching Hollywood action- sci-fi –genre movie materials. 19 informants attended to empirical research. The contents of their descriptions about the movie materials were analysed qualitatively. Results show that characters, events and locations were emphasised. Colours, editing, auditive information and other momentary elements as well as objects were usually left out of representations as a result of the bottom-top processing of information.
