摘要:The target of the joint development and evaluation project of the public libraries in the Oulu region, Northern Finland, was to evaluate qualitatively the contents of their work and their competence in children’s library work and in information service. The project utilised teamwork, which included characteristics of interest circles, knowledge management and exchange of best practices. The contribution of the teams was important, especially at the beginning of the evaluation and in the de sign of the evaluation methods. Another major result of team work was the increased familiarity between the neighbouring municipal libraries, their staff and their expertise as well as the long needed opportunity to discuss professional issues with colleagues, which was especially important for the libraries with only one or two librarians. The project is a part of the three-year PARKKI project, which is an evaluation and development project of Northern Finnish Libraries.
