摘要:Taking English teaching summative assessment and formative assessment system as the entry point, the essay illustrates the effect of the assessments on College English teaching and its great influence on English learning by combing it with practical teaching experience deeply and broadly. It also points out that students’ real English level can not only rely on a single evaluation mode. Summative assessment and formative assessment have different form and different function. They should be combined together during the teaching and learning process. Then the students’ English level will be effectively evaluated, and it will better guide the foreign language teaching.
