摘要：Information technology has changed almost all fields of our social life. The surging development of the information technology not only brings about many changes in to the education in modern time but also poses unprecedented challenges to the professional development of teachers. College English teachers are encouraged to have the ability to harness the power of information technology into innovated teaching and learning strategies. The reform of college English education cannot be implemented without enhancing the quality of teachers. This paper makes an analysis on the changed teaching environment that present college English teachers are faced by and puts forward that they should make efforts to develop their information literacy to adjust to the new environment.
