摘要:In her article "Vancouver's 2002 Municipal Election: Growth Coalition Defeated," Cornelia Sussmann examines the 2002 Vancouver municipal election and the reasons why it led to a defeat of the growth regime that had been in place in Vancouver since 1986. After providing an overview of municipal politics in Vancouver since the 1950s, Sussmann then analytically attends to the kind of growth coalition politics that dominated the city from 1986 to 2002, including the reason for the defeat of the mayoral candidate at the hands of Larry Campbell. Such insight is valuable as one observes the changing dynamics in Vancouver and other Canadian urban centres.
